Quick Administration Guide

PortalApp 4.0 Gold Release
PortalApp 4.0 now provides even more versatility with RSS reading and publishing, multi-language support, new layouts, new themes, content panels and improved SEO features.

All site content, layout, styles and users can be managed using the browser-based Administration Control Panel (ACP). Once you login using 'sa' (super admin), you can access the control panel by clicking the 'ACP' menu link.

Structure & Navigation

Menus throughout the site are dynamically driven by the Content & Categories defined in the ACP. The labels for the menu options such as 'Login', 'Sitemap' and 'Contact Us' can be changed via the ACP > Options menu.

Styles & Design

Styles & design are controlled by styles sheets and include pages. These can be managed and custom edited via the ACP > Styles and ACP > Header/Footer menus. By changing the header and footer HTML include pages, the entire layout and location of the navigation can be instantly modified. If you change the orientation of the menus, you may need to edit the .MainTable, .MainTD, .LeftTD and .RightTD style sheet properties accordingly.

Integrated Features

Such as Calendar, Forums, Ad Management and E-commerce can be managed, enabled or disabled via the ACP > Options menu.

Content (CMS)

Content throughout the site is easy to create and manage. Various user levels can be granted permission to author (post) content to the site. Content authoring is controlled on a per 'section' basis, whereby some users can post to the 'Links' section, while other users could compose content for the 'Articles' section. These sections are in essence the Content Types that have been defined for the site.
